High Fiber Breakfast Cereals

Breakfast cereals high in fiber sound like an easy, quick win for people trying to increase their fiber intake. This is especially true after being told that “more fiber” is the answer to constipation, bloating, or irregular bowel movements. However, many people reach for a high fiber cereal expecting relief. Instead, they end up with […]

With the 4th of July coming up, here is the one mi With the 4th of July coming up, here is the one mistake I do not want you making if you struggle with bloating, IBS, or digestive issues.

I know the thought process because I hear it all the time. You have plans later, you know there will be foods that typically trigger symptoms, so it feels logical to eat as little as possible during the day in hopes of preventing bloating later on.

The problem is that this strategy often backfires.

Your digestive system functions best when it has consistency. The stomach and digestive tract actually begin preparing for food around the times your body expects to eat, which means acid production, digestive secretions, and overall digestive activity start ramping up in anticipation of a meal.

When you skip meals, that rhythm gets disrupted.

⚠️ Stomach acid is released without food, often worsening reflux or nausea
⚠️ Gut motility can slow, leading to more bloating and constipation
⚠️ The digestive system loses the consistency needed to keep things moving efficiently

The biggest issue usually happens later.

After eating very little all day, many people end up arriving at the cookout overly hungry and eating a much larger meal than their digestive system is prepared for. At that point, digestion is already out of rhythm, meals are eaten quickly, and symptoms often end up feeling worse than they would have otherwise.

So if you have plans this weekend, please do not starve yourself all day trying to prepare for them.

Your digestive system will do far better with consistency than restriction.

You cannot out-supplement a dysregulated nervous s You cannot out-supplement a dysregulated nervous system.

And honestly, I think this is one of the biggest problems I see in the gut health space right now. The second someone feels stressed, overwhelmed, anxious, or burnt out, they are immediately told they need another supplement.

Ashwagandha, cortisol calming formulas, adrenal support blends, magnesium, and endless products all marketed as the solution.

Now to be clear, I absolutely think supplements can be helpful in the right situation. But we have to stop pretending that a supplement can fix a nervous system that is chronically stuck in survival mode.

When your body is spending most of its time in fight or flight, digestion is directly impacted because your nervous system is constantly prioritizing immediate survival over normal physiological function.

⚠️ Digestion slows down
⚠️ Motility becomes less coordinated
⚠️ Stomach acid production decreases
⚠️ Sleep quality suffers
⚠️ Recovery becomes significantly harder

I see so many people spending hundreds of dollars trying to lower cortisol while continuing to live in the exact environment that is keeping their nervous system dysregulated in the first place.

Still overcommitting, constantly multitasking, rushing through meals, staying chronically stressed, and never creating opportunities for the body to actually slow down.

The goal should never be simply suppressing symptoms with another supplement.

True nervous system regulation is something you practice consistently, whether that means creating better boundaries, prioritizing rest, breathing intentionally, reducing unnecessary stressors, or simply giving your body more opportunities to feel safe.

Because until you start changing the environment your body is living in, no supplement is going to do the heavy lifting for you.

Unexplained weight gain?? You aren't alone! SIB Unexplained weight gain??

You aren't alone!

SIBO (specifically Methane Overgrowth) can often lead to weight gain or inability to lose weight.

Here’s why:

🔸 Methane overgrowth is notorious for slowing down your motility. This means that your body has more time to absorb calories that you are consuming.

🔸 Archaea thrives off of hydrogen and breaks down certain fibers that we may not have otherwise been able to break down. This means you can absorb more calories which can lead to more weight gain.

🔸 Lowering thyroid function through inflammation

🔸 Imbalanced blood sugar control → triggers hunger & fat storage

🔸 Stealing nutrients (like B12 & iron) needed for energy production

🔸 Fatigue → Less activity

It’s not just about “eating less and moving more.” Healing your gut could be the key to restoring your energy, metabolism, and body confidence.

📩 Comment the word COACHING if you're ready to get to the root cause and finally feel like yourself again.

One of the hardest parts about living with chronic One of the hardest parts about living with chronic digestive issues is that people often only see the physical symptoms, like bloating, stomach pain, and constipation or diarrhea.

What they do not see is the mental load that comes with it.

Wondering if eating before leaving the house is a bad idea. Scanning every new place for the nearest bathroom. Feeling anxious during long car rides, vacations, concerts, amusement parks, flights, or even something as simple as going out to dinner with friends.

I work with so many women who have quietly built their entire lives around trying to avoid symptoms. Not because they want to, but because their gut has become unpredictable and they no longer trust their body.

Healing is about so much more than improving digestion.

It is about getting to enjoy moments like this without your symptoms dictating every decision you make.

That is what real freedom looks like. And I have seen first hand that it is possible with the right help!

Comment COACHING if you are ready for this to be your reality
